AWT Work Advance Training

What is WorkAdvance?
The AWT WorkAdvance program is an entry-level two-week boot
camp-style program that provides a pathway to a career in manufacturing
regardless of the participant’s current experience level. We worked closely
with our manufacturing members to determine the skills that are most
valuable to them when interviewing entry-level candidates. Based on the
manufacturers’ feedback, we created a program that covers blueprint
reading, shop math, metrics and measurement, resume building, interview
prep, and financial literacy. Participants have the opportunity to complete a
Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) and OSHA10 credential free of
charge (if so choose as well). Once through the course, AWT arranges
interviews with member companies for employment.
We work closely with community-based organizations, county
resources, and manufacturing partners in delivering this program to
participants. Thank you to Ohio Means Jobs Lake County, Society of HR
Managers, and Vector Technical for working with the participants on
resume and interview preparation. Cardinal Credit Union/Dr. Zuren, Vector
Technical, MUM, Fredon, and Parker Hannifin for manufacturing tour days
during WorkAdvance.
